WHY WORK WITH ME?

I hold qualifications in Mental Health Practice awarded by the English National Board for Nursing, Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have been a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Registered Independent Practitioner since 1990.
I gained an accredited BACP counselling qualification in 1990 and began my career as a Therapist for the NHS. I facilitated group work with survivors of trauma who had experiences of suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviours.
As a specialist counsellor in mental health, I work with clients living with a diagnosis of a Personality Disorder who use substance misuse as a coping mechanism. I have extensive experience within agencies providing therapy for individuals in crisis, which includes anger management, domestic violence and child protection issues.
I have experience of working with clients living with moderate to severe depression, anxiety, due to work related issues, such as disciplinary procedures, accidents and relationship dynamics. I help clients to deal with these problems using a Cognitive Behavioural approach.
I currently manage a generic counselling practice offering online video therapy and work with both individuals and couples.
I offer a specific service of short term, solution focused counselling to assist people to address their psychological problems.
